NY Home Health: Get Annual Health Assessment by Dec. 31

Mobile Health reminds home health care and hospice workers they must obtain an annual health assessment by December 31 to remain compliant with New York Department of Health (NY-DOH) requirements.

Last spring, in response to the pandemic, NY-DOH temporarily suspended its annual health assessment requirement for Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs), Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSAs), Long-Term Home Health Care Programs (LTHHCPs), and AIDS home care programs and hospices.

However, the agency lifted that suspension last month and instructed workers to obtain an annual health assessment by December 31, 2020.

Don’t Forget Pre-Employment Exams

In that same October announcement, NY-DOH also reminds home health and hospice agencies they must obtain pre-employment health assessments for all new personnel.
